A Quick Look Ahead

We have just three lessons left before our June 10th concert! (See details below.)

After the concert, we will still meet for a few additional lessons, so please remind students to continue bringing their instruments.

Next Year: I’ve noticed that some students have already signed up for a Middle School Ensemble, but we’re hoping to see even more enroll. Ensembles are a wonderful opportunity at the middle school level, as students get to meet daily with their teachers, and class periods are a bit longer—allowing for greater musical growth. [Here is the link to sign up.]

Stay tuned for details about instrument turn-in days. If you plan to keep a rental instrument over the summer, please be sure to contact your rental company.

Summer is a great time for private lessons! There are also many music camps looking for budding string players. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help finding either option.

Concert – June 10

Just like last time, the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. All students should arrive at the school by 6:00 p.m. for tuning and warm-ups.

To keep the dress code more in line with middle school expectations, I’ve asked students to wear black and white with a splash of color. Black dresses are also acceptable.

Instrument Care

As the weather warms up, there are a few important reminders about instrument care. Please make sure instruments—even when in their cases—are not left in direct sunlight. I’ve seen instances where cases have melted onto the instruments from sun exposure.

Also, avoid storing instruments in areas with high heat or humidity, as these conditions can warp or damage them.

If you’re considering purchasing an instrument, please reach out to me, Mrs. Nguyen, or a private instructor for guidance. Not all instruments are created equal, and we’d be happy to help ensure you make a good choice.
